A particular scene for ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ was shot with 1260 artistes acting in it, says the film's producer Raveendran. He also says the three-year-long wait is all set to come to an end with the movie is getting ready to hit screens in January 2010.

Directed by Selvaraghavan, the movie starring Karthi, Parthiban, Andrea and Reema Sen was shot in a whopping budget. Talking about the delay, Raveendran says, it is a movie that is technically rich and would definitely take Tamil cinema to next-level. The story is different from the run-of-the-mill stuff. The story has been narrated in a different way. It begins in 2009 and goes back to early 12th century. There are references about Chola regime. Hence the delay.

Dwelling further, Raveendran says, It is an entertaining movie but would be thought-provoking. The valour and intelligence of our forefathers for the crux. We shot the movie in an extravagant manner.

Made at a cost of Rs 31 crore, everything is grand about the movie. The climax was shot with over several thousand junior artistes. The film demanded state-of-the-art graphic works. It took for several months to complete it. The end product is nothing but amazing, he says.

G V Prakash has scored music for the movie and the background score would be a major highlight, he adds.
